National Library Classic Collection Gifts Card Set
A lovely collection of 8 blank George Raper (1769-1796) Birds and Flowers of Australia Card Set.
In 2005, the national library of Australia purchased 56 rare and exquisite First Fleet watercolours from Lord Moreton, seventh Earl of Ducie and the Morton Family. The paintings in the Ducie collection are attributed to George Raper, a midshipman on the flagship HMS Sirius and one of the most talented First Fleet artists. Many are the first visual records by a European artist of Australian fauna and flora. They show the birds and flowers of the Port Jackson area as Raper saw them between 1788 and 1790.
